Tylose or CMC (Carboxyl Methyl Cellulose) powder is a binding agent that can be added to fondant to create gum paste and to help it dry hard.

Tylose can also be added to gum paste to make it easier to work with.

Tylose powder can also be mixed with warm water to create edible glue.
