Shortbread Mix 15kg - Bakels

Fill the café biscuit jar with shortbread rounds, fondant covered cookies for wedding favours and bake desserts for high tea platters, all from one 15kg bag. Just add butter to your mix, so one bag goes a long way in a busy bakery or café.

Pipe logos or names in royal icing for corporate gift boxes, dip biscuits in dark chocolate for the counter, or press the dough into trays as a base for caramel slice and lemon bars. Bake a batch of plain rounds at the start of the week, then ice, dip or cover them with fondant as orders come in.

Directions for Use

You'll need (per 1kg of mix): 1kg shortbread mix, 550g butter.

1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
2. Cream the butter in a mixing bowl until light in colour.
3. Blend in the shortbread mix on low speed. Don't overmix.
4. Roll the dough to 10mm thick, cut into shapes and place on a lined baking tray. Each 1kg of mix makes approx. 45 biscuits at 30g each.
5. Bake. Times may vary depending on your oven.

• 30g biscuits at 180°C: 12 to 15 minutes

Storage: Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
